jumper
After the initial craze about which tank does what n what, i think at the moment 60% of it is looking good, and taking photos outa tanks is much easier than fish so i've decided to ask what you guys think of it ! Community Tank This is the tank that started this whole fishie stuff again... It has a lot of fish on it, mollies, swords, cardinals, tetras, danios, ottos, etc. Breeding set up supposedly i would be able to get 3- 6 spawns in these configuration, at the moment i will have to re-divide the top tank. Mid tank is doing greats, lowest tank is doing good plus yoga classes might have to move it to a stand i have in the garage for easier seeing. on the right hand side is what is supposed to be the "keeper" tank. Initially it had way too many divisions which have been cut by half. flow works much better this way. Growing out + keeper tank this is what was going to be a "grow out area" The tank on the top left has my VT Father/Fry trial happening. The other two tanks are just empty at the moment. top right tank- had ideas of making it into another keeper tank. not too sure of it as yet. Bottom left tank - might move this tank into another waist level shelving and continue its purpose as a grow out tank. Let me know what you lads n ladies think! have fun! argylebetta
Nice set up jumper. Those bunnings type shelves take a lot of weight dont they........I have a few and reckon they are great for tanks.
jumper
yes, they are rated at 350 kg per shelf . I had an option of going for the cheaper/lighter version rated at 50kg per shelf, but i thought that might be pushing a bit if each 2ft was full of water, so i decided to opt for the stronger one, just to be safe. these shelves probably will outlast me easilly :)
argylebetta
Yeah you have to watch those rated around 50kg. I have one full of jars and one with dry stock and light stuff on it. The one full of jars has stretch on it already.........silly me.
Jess
I have the 150kg shelving and I have a 2ft on each - no buckling on the shelves woo hoo!! ..used to have 75kg, it was flimsy when I only used 30-40L w/ small tanks, I got rid of it as it was a bit dodgy. I was thinking about putting another tank on the 1st tier. Will it be safe?. Most of the wooden stand sold in LFS has 2 tier but i don't think it is designed to put 2 tanks on. Can anyone advise me further?. I was thinking about getting rid few stands and putting them on 1 stand
jumper
thanks guys! hopefully i can help out the betta depo I got a wooden stand exactly like yours. Can anyone advise me further?. I was thinking about getting rid few stands and putting them on 1 stand It really depends , how the wooden stand was built, etc etc. I saw a few wooden stands in the good ole bunnings, but i didnt find them trustworthy so i decided to opt for something that already had a rated max weight on it. If you have space available , putting them side by side definetly looks better and it doesnt need to watching at different eye levels.
jumper
on the mid way of converting the "garage -top-right-tank" into a keeper tank. i will keep the breeders(male) in there. hoping for the UV sterilizer to come sooner, so i cna finish it up faster too... "garage-bottom-tank" will become the new "Female keeper" tank... do you guys think the females wil overgrow the males with so much room to fidget around?
