splendidbetta
Bettas don't like current. Some current is ok, but the fish should be able to swim against it, not have to struggle through it in any way. Say, just enough current for it not to be stagnant - circulating steadily but slowly. sara
i keep my 3 female bettas in my 3ft tropical catfish and native tank with 3 filters running, a internal, HOB and a boxfilter, they are flourishing, the tank is densely planted so not sure if that might be an advantage for them,
Chuckie
brent, I think the question really is what sort of current do you have in the large tank? You said he was enjoying it - so why remove him because "theoretically" they shouldn't be in a current? If he was struggling that's a different story, but if he's enjoying himself I'd put him back. So many bettas are fat and overfed - let him enjoy the exercise!
GUPPYSLAYER
he was removed coz he was nipping the fins of the male guppies. the tank was set up mainly for them so he was removed, but yes i would have loved to keep him in there. brenton
