najrick
Hi all, Well I've been reading with interest the past few days about breeding with a female that has good rays, form and size. We received a pair of absolute stunners matching all these from Edie. Thanks Edie The spawn is mostly blue's with some Turquoise and Melanos thrown in. We even have one very odd pale blue - white (lavender?) male. Forgot to take his pic but will post it soon. These are the parents: And this is some of the boys at only 8 weeks old. With another spawn only one week younger f.rom a smaller red pair I have to agree the genes of the parents say a lot for the babies. http://www.najrickbettas.com/Gallery/blue_2.jpg Najina. najrick
Thanks for the comments all. I get excited every time they are un-carded -- which is a lot Vicki we'd love these to be of a size to send to the next show in Brisbane but time is running out for them and I doubt they will make it. They will be barely 3 months by then. They'll be ready for any shows after that though. Maybe even a red or two as well Najina.
edie
yeah, the melano and the 2nd blue down look good. Congrat Naj & Pat, definitely very well taken care off I thought by the look of it, u could have gotten DT as well, since dad seems like carrying DT gene. najrick
Time for an update on the Blues. Najina found some time today to take a few photos. Most were not cooperating especially the Melanos and our one and only marble from the spawn who is called Lavender. He flares like crazy in his tank but try to take a photo of him there or in the photo tanks and he does nothing. Very camera shy is our young Lav. Pics of them one day. Will also try to get some photos of females soon. Well Najina will anyway No matter how much I try I cannot take a decent photo. I specialise in cleaning tanks Other than Lavender we really haven't decided who to keep before putting them up for sale. Waiting for the girls to develop a bit more before making that decison. Anyway here's three who did want to play the photo game. And three different colours too. They are now 3 months and 4 days old. Cheers, Pat.
