Callatya
Anyone here keep Mussels? I had 4, but now only have one, as I think the water in my parent's tank is too soft, and leeches their shells they are great critters, very active at night and incredibly interesting to watch
Jess
I used to keep them when I was a little kid in my tanks. They are active at night, I remember waking up in the mornings to see all these race tracks around the tank ) After I had a few die and wipe out my fish , I then only used them for bait on the fishing line Mine used to stink too, whether they were alive or dead Do they uproot your plants abbey? fuzzy_dragonfly
Hmmm, no can't say I have had a pet mussel, although I'd imagine it would be interesting to see others reactions to your unusual pet.
Callatya
unfortunately, during the day they don't do anything much at all. Its only in the evenings when they heft themselves about and tear my tank to bits!
