SAbetta
Who woulda thought that me of all people would end up joining a fishy forum? Mum, yes that loving dear lady I have called my mother since 1981 probably would have guessed that from a young age i was going to love my fish! After denying me my first real crack at fish keeping when selling my grandfathers 2 foot tank at a garage sale I finally managed to obtain for my 9th birthday a fish bowl. Yes it was indeed somewhat of a step back from 3 years prior when poppas tank went for a measely $20 but I did have that oriental ornament as a centre piece which I managed to salvage from the bargain shoppers grasp. So since that day I have always had fish around me. Tanks have been involved in many birthday celebrations since that day and now leaves me with 7 tanks ranging in size from 6' to 2'. Over the years I have kept cichlids, tetras, fighters, livebearers, native australians and so on and have a reasoable grasp on the man made aquatic world. During such time I feel I have self trained myself in a number of specialist fields which include: -Marine tankology -Aquascaping -Marine Husbandry -"Breaking In" Fish and Yabbies (Yes I have managed to form a mutualistic relationship with many of my aquatic friends in which they benefit from me in the form of food and friendship while I benefit in the form of locomotion) I am planning to set up an instituition whereby others with less experience than myself can undertake such studies and gain a better understanding of the aquarium industry. In doing so I hope to solve the rising fuel price problem with my "Saddle up a Yabbie" campaign. In all seriouness I have joined in the hope of gaining a few contacts who may be able to help me design a suitable saddle for my Saddle up a Yabbie campaign. I am also looking for financial members in my venture. Shares will be sold at $5 a pop with a total of 3 shares being made available to the public. The other 2 will remain apart of my family trust which will form the cornerstone of my superannuation/retirement fund. Outside of my very busy political life I have just completed a degree in education at Deakin Univerity in Melbourne recently moving to Adelaide to play football semi professionally. My methods are Biology and PE and will teach in 4th term once the paperwork goes through. I have spawned some fighter babies in recent weeks and am looking to share resources/costs with other members potentially in adelaide as geting fish here is an expensive exercise. My Girlfriend (God bless her) is a Marine Biologist and her brother has Honours in an Aquaculture degree. Very handy people to have around the place. O I have a tank full of bristlenose catfish too, 3 adults and about 80 babies which are nearly a month old. LFS offered me $2 - $3 each for them but I am opening up a special offer to any forum member living in Adelaide and still reading my first post (surely no one) to PM me and I will happily give you a couple. (Couple more if you breed fighters) OK thats me look forward to hearing from you shortly! Hope the Moderators let me into the club after that nutty rant! fightingfishfancier
Welcome Clinton, quite an introduction! A fellow South Aussie, great to see. Enjoy looking around and avoid the classifieds, lots of great bettas and sometimes other fish to purchase and feed your addiction, yes I'm talking from experience! Cheers, Heidi

SAbetta
LEEMA and ERREN I know this is naughty but I would be keen to get some albino's off of someone in Melbourne if you want to share expenses? I am not activated by moderators to reply to that section yet. She only has 30 tho I would be keen on 6 or so. Her friend may have plenty more to give / sell to her.I recently bred normal bristlenoses. Actually the father has the most amazingly long bristles if you wanted a few of the youngens to add to your gene pool that could work also. I am in adelaide too so makes life pretty easy. I love this place! I am in Unley if that is good for a central pick up for Albino's? Clinton SAbetta

No selling shares - whether in saddlery, aquaculture enterprises or otherwise - in introductory posts - LMAO!! Great to have you here. SAbetta
Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement. Getting pretty active on this site already having organised some albino bristlenoses to add to my breeding stocks. Absolutely loving this site guys! Did a drawing for a betta Barracks today while at work. Looks good on paper but am thinkin the practice side may be somewhat harder. If I succeed I will post my laughable plan and pics for you to see.

SAbetta
OK, just reading over my intro and realised that I only joined here less than 3 weeks ago. In that time I have recieved 6 albino bristlenose catfish from Erren, 5 Bettas from Nick and met 2 of the fellow AAQ members. Thats got to be some sort of a record hey? Figure_8
 Think of it as going for a swim. You can dip in your toe and slowly acclimatize yourself, or you can just bomby straight into the deep end (and splash all your mates which is much more fun )
