Callatya
This is a friend of mine's fish. Its name is Razz. Razz has a pretty physical mutation. Can you see it? I'm not sure if I like it or not, but it has a certain something Razz Pictures Anyone seen this before?
splendidbetta
He has an extra bit of anal fin growin out beside his normal one? Not somethin I would breed for, if it's genetic...
Robbies Betta
I gotta say, I kinda like it don't know how it would go with breeding it on, as it could be just a freak, and not passable thru genes (or as rare as albino) good choice in betta tho, he'd be a special lil pet, and a talking point, the extra finnage is so flowing
splendidbetta
I'm not sure if I like it, but it does add character.
Celeste84
a double anal fin, cool! the next form of DT LOL if it's anything like DT this mutation would be genetic, but you would need two fish showing the trait or carrying the genes for it to breed true. very nice, has a lot of potential, i mean can you imagine a HM with a perfect pair of dual anal fins? now that would look stunning :D
Chuckie
Hmm. I am a minimalist. It's not for me.
PeterJ
Any plans to breed him and maybe find out if it's heritable?
Callatya
I'm not really sure, I think he was an LFS find so finding a sibling to cross would be tricky if not impossible. Would be nice to know though! I could see it gaining popularity with those who like veiwing fish from above
PeterJ
A sibling spawn might not help if it's a spontaneous mutation. You could try to spawn him and if the trait doesn't show in the fry, try a father/daughter spawn if he's still around (otherwise an F2). If it didn't show in a father daughter spawn it's probably just a congenital abnormality that's not genetic. I'd be very interested in hearing how it goes if you try it. Good luck, Peter. splendidbetta
Is it possible that the part of the body that the anal fin grows from was split through injury as a fry and another bit of fin continued to grow from the split part?
