Chuckie
Some of you guys know Coral, who bought that legendary "king CT" black orchid from AussieBettas which she called SpiderMan. I went to see her with Phil today, and I was astounded at the quality of the fry she has raised and is selling. She has both black CTs and some HMs (Melano and turquoise/melano geno) for sale. Phil picked a couple of the melano pairs up. I have more than enough to keep me way too busy already and they would be wasted on me so forced common sense to prevail, but man was I jealous much??!! I am sure every one of those HM males was HM at the very least. Phil scored an OHM. And so many were black! And they were OHM without even being carded! Sorry, just had to share. She is selling them, so bear her and her fish in mind if you are into melanos/black orchid.
Phil
dont get me started, that OHM male is one of the best HMs i have ever seen. I was surprised at how many HMs there were and how black so many of them were, and the king CT fry- Brilliant! I will have some pics tomorrow, charging up the batteries at the moment. Callatya
that is a nice-looking fish, snake-like or not! he depth of colour looks pretty incredible! is he that rich blue IRL or is that the flash? How is our Spiderman going? Still living in the lap of luxury? Did she get and cross-rays? (I just wrote Xrays and realised that just ;looked silly ))
Chuckie
no cross rays, not surprising as spidey didn't have the usual compliment of cross rays for a KCT (but is to die for anyway). They are much darker without flash. OH, I have to take a teeeeeeensy bit of credit - one of my CTFs was the mama. She's a sister to the one Jo has. So I guess I am their grammy! Fishchick
cross rays are hard to get - especially with an unrelated pair. The pic I saw of one youngster shows quite nice ray spacing. Hope she kept the best pair to spawn again. What happened to the female f rom the cross ray CT line that came with spidey?
fuzzy_dragonfly
I lost my poor cross ray , and to top it off, I did spawn him but he ate his eggs so no fry . What really bugs me is that cross ray had attitude and personality, finding another will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Ah well these things happen. That's a really stunning betta Phil , good on you .
Chuckie
What happened to the female f rom the cross ray CT line that came with spidey? The CR female didn't survive shipping, if I recall correctly, but I think you were able to send a replacement who was blue/steel. Bloody fish, being alive and all! Hopefully an F2 cross will have some crossing in some of the offspring. Spidey was (and is) an incredible fish.
