that's cool, it's cos they are in tanks :) As they are a pond fish, they are valued for their appearance from the top, rather than the side. To me they look quite odd from the side, but that's because I am only used to seeing them from above, lol.

Nice babies Mango! They coming along quite well.. Sorry to hijack this, but sydneysiders, can you guys point out a koi farm out your way? I want to see what they look like in their 'natural environment'

When are you coming down? I might be able to take you to some of the breeders I know. They got many types for sale. Since its near the Annual Koi show, they should be upto their final culls, so lots of fish to get rid of. Any particular colours you are after?

Lilli, I've checked out the Australian Koi farm and it seems a wee bit far for us to get to in one day. We're only up for the weekend. We're staying in Homebush Bay (or so we're thinking). And not really being familiar with Sydney, how far is South Windsor Hatchery?
