Nicola
Ok i woke up and noticed in my mail 50L tank that is used for my betta's, on the inside of the glass there are all these semi clear white dots, about the side of a fair sized pin end, some were moving, some not. at one point it looked like some sort of a worm, or tail thing was coming out of one, and then i see other little white things free swimming or skittering across the glass. Help D: what are these things! Should i be madly cleaning my tank and sterilizing everything? some are bound to be in the filter too, as i doubt they wouldn't get sucked up by it while swimming. They don't look like any snail eggs i have ever seen either that is the only thing that i could think of that may of caused it P.S i cant take pics of them Doesn't show up at all on my phone. Yanagi
Look up planaria, that sounds like it. Not harmful but a sign of a dirty tank in some cases.
Nicola
all the pics of those things are not what i am seeing as i cannot find any pics of eggs, argh, when the ones that move they kind of move in a jittery movement :/ my tank isn't dirty D: (back wall) they are really hard to pick up with a camera. Bettarazzi
Can't see anything in the pics. Does your camera have manual focus? If not you could depress the trigger halfway to lock the focus then just move the camera forward or back until the things are in focus then press the button the rest of the way. Nicola
These are as good as the pics are going to get they are that SMALL that its having trouble picking up on them :/ it was even on macro, half pressed down button and everything. i took over 20 photo's these are the best ones, the only way i could get pics of them was to not face them straight on :/ might try the fish eye lens Oh! i managed to Suck some up into a glass with a sringe and airline.. Pyrefly
Hard to say what they are, but this link might help - http://www.planetinverts.com/what_is_that_bug_in_my_aquarium.html Not neccessarily dangerous or requiring a complete disinfection, most microorganisms in aquariums seem to be quite harmless. Nicola
found my bro's camera which has a macro lens (which he doesn't know about he just thinks its a fish eye lens O:) can everyone see them now? kinda looks like dust particles in the air.. but its IN the tank ON the glass and it take quite a prod with the airline sringe syphone to get them off to suck em up the tube (when i was putting some in a glass) some also seem to be "floating" on the top of the water in little groups. Wild Nut
I wouldn't worry. In some of my wild betta tanks the water is full of microscopic worms and bugs skittering about. Since my bettas enjoy picking at them, I just let it be. I figure it keeps them occupied and I've yet to see any ill-effects because of it. forever_and_a_day
it's most likely planaria. shouldn't be much of a problem, if you want to get rid of it try 'no-planaria' or starve the tank for a few days... ime it helps reduce the tank's microscopic population :)
Bettarazzi
Yeah agree with others have said. They will probably go away on their own. Or the fish will eat them. Just observe for a few days and see if it gets worse.
