PaigeH
Hello I have a halfmoon male betta and I have just brought a 4.5 litre tank with filter and heater, Is this tank to small, there is a live plant in the tank, What do you think ? :D
Spanger
It's probably a little bit too small... If you can afford / get to a kmart they have little starter tanks (about 20L) for about $20. They're still small but I think mine's OK
PaigeH
Thank you, I cant afford it right now what if I upgraded him to a 8.5 litre tank would he be happier? :D
melbournebetta
In all honesty, I've got my kids in litre containers while they're all in quarantine (these are HM females) and they're fine - but obviously this is a short term solution. Yes - upgrade to 8.5 litres if you have it.... but personally, over the long term, I have all my breeding males and females in 8-10 litres, and they really thrive. Some ppl have their fish in a beanie box ( 10cmx10cmx20cm - so hold 2L) and they're OK.... particularly as a breeder setup when theres lots of fish. I reckon if you have just one - or a few fish, you'd want to have them in bigger containers. How are you heating it? -Ness

melbournebetta
Sounds good Paige - so long as the temp is stable you'll be right (i ask because it fluctuates quickly in a little body of water)
