Fish Friendly Mozzie killers?

We very rarely use fly spray, opting for the fish friendly flyswat and with this many kids running around with a flyswatter we dont have any fly issues.

But since the floods, we have a very bad mozzie problem and one of the kids has a strong allergic reactions to mozzie bites. Twice now someone has left a door open and the house has filled up with mozzies. Tonight be the 2nd time and there was so many, we had to spray otherwise we would be dosing the 2 year old with steroids.

Is there some sort of fish friendly mozzie killer or deterant? ie like lavender, citronella or something. Or a plant grown near the door that deters them?

Geranium is supposed to be a good deterrent, however there's a forrest of it outside my window, so they come in for refuge....

Citronella is good, but you wouldn't want that anywhere near open fish tanks.... anything you smell is particle in the air, and is able to enter the system of your tank - hairspray, incense, perfume, aerosols...

Might as well spray direct into the tank.

Mozzies love floral smells, dark clothes, carbon dioxide, heat and perfume... so don't use lavender.

Cover all tanks with damp towels before you spray. We had an ants nest in a wall a few years ago. The amount of crap they sprayed around, inside and out, was scary for us let alone the fish.

I used the wet towel and expected to lose lots, if not all my fish. Lost none. :-)
