jha
He should recover fine provided he wasn't out of his tank for too long.Put him somewhere where quiet so he can recover from the shock it would have got from the fall. Goodluck.
SiameseFightingFist
How far was the fall and was it on hard floor or carpet?I wouldn't know what to do, probably freak out and be asking the same questions about whether to put him down or not. kermadum
Just make sure his back isn't broken after the fall. I recently had one of my unimaculata jump out of her tank (that only had the tiniest little hole in the lid, I'm still amazed she got through it, but I digress...) she appeared to have broken her spine in the fall, and wasn't able to move her rear half afterwards. She survived for another week or so, but eventually died.
fishbites
Fingers crossed he's fine for you.... sad to hear of your unimac, Adam.... I've had patoti hit concrete floors from about 3'6" and they've been fine but would just depend on how they hit (what angle, etc) I suppose.... I lost an archer fish yesterday afternoon - jumped over 35cm up and out of a bucket - was too far gone by the time I found him
Wild Nut
Ouch. Sounds like he must have hit the ground fairly hard. I always get that heart-in-throat feeling when I can't find one of my fish. I've lost a couple of unimaculata males to suicide jumps through the smallest gaps, but fortunately, have always been around when one of my splendens has had the urge to see what's it like on the surface. Hopefully he is fine and was just suffering from a nasty case of shock.
catfishbone
I would put a bit of salt and IAL in his tank to calm him down. Finger crossed he's fine ... but if he started to swim normally then I wouldn't worry too much ... :D
