mandz
I am pretty sure this is a standard VT, but just wanted to check with you guys as his fins are different to my other VT male, thanks Lulu 1 Lulu 2 Sorry about the quality of the pics, he is spawning atm in a scratched plastic tub LOL
shadoh
It's hard to tell without him flaring, but it looks like he is more of a delta tail...
mandz
do VT's have a more pointed caudal fin? I picked him up for $7 in Coburg
shadoh
Not always pointed. VT's have more of an asymmetrical caudal that droops down. Deltas have more of a symmetrical V shape to their caudal like the guy in your pics... He's a beautiful boy and a good score for $7!
mandz
HE isn't my fave, I have never thought much of him LOL, I wasn't even going to attempt to spawn him, but how could I resist the big bubble nest he was blowing in his lil tank?! shadoh
If you have a nice HM girl to put with him, you're sure to get some super deltas! :D
mandz
awww geez, thanks for telling me while he is spawning with a standard VT lol... next run I will put him with one of the HM girls I got from Ness. I am looking forward to just seeing what happens for the first few spawns, and then after that I might get even more serious about it. A big learning process for me, next year I study genetics @ uni, so that might be helpful LOL
shadoh
Lol... I told you as soon as I knew about him... Good luck with the spawning. You'll probably get VT's with slightly fuller looking tails. They'll look nicer than most pet shop VT's Is there a photo of the female on your Facebook page? mandz
yeah this is her Teal He seems to be having problems getting the embrace right, they have been at it since 9.30am. I saw her pick up an egg and I have seen him pick up a few... now to hope that they are going in the nest! My crowns spawned last week, but no eggs hatched and here
shadoh
It's only early... My dragons spawned for a full 24 hours... Sorry to hear about the CT spawn.... :(
mandz
OMG thats ages! I put the red male and black female dragons that you sent me in to spawn, but after a couple of days she kept flipping herself up on top of the cup... suicide attempt? LOL
shadoh
Was she trying to get in or out of the cup? Lol... I'd personally give the dragons a little more time... They haven't even finished growing yet... also it took their parents 3 or 4 failed spawns before they got it right...
mandz
I think she was trying to get away from him LOL, yeah I am going to give them more time now
melbournebetta
Nothin' plain about him! Lovely gent - He'll look great over copper (; xx
mandz
Would that be as easy as breeding him with copper HM female Ness?
melbournebetta
That's what I'm surreptitiously suggesting (mwahahahaha) Your fry will get a better spread than with the VT lady, so she can be next in line - I really like him - his marble pattern is really interesting (and colourful) x
mandz
he has already spawned with her this morning... but next time, he can have a try with the copper HM. I am still a little concerned about her, I wonder if maybe she could have been attacked by the super delta male she was in with. She is swimming better, but still not 100% herself
melbournebetta
:T That's the risk of keeping M+F together I guess. My girls are thugs - it's true :)
