fishbites Posted May 25, 2011 Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 salvinia.. on the noxious weeds list for Australia.... fines if caught growing it in most states.... really clogs up waterways and causes depletion of natural oxygen as the surface is so covered there's no oxygen exchange with the water.... best to use duckweed or other floating plants and destroy this one..... fishbites Posted May 25, 2011 Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 definitely not - it will cover the water surface and block the Bettas from getting air - destroy the salvinia..... use wisteria for the Bettas - floats and leaves nice gaps to let the Bettas get air and build bubble nests....
