ONE CENTIMETRE????? I suppose they have been in there for nearly a month. So don't need to bother with baby brine shrimp? Go straight to grindals? *lol* I have to admit I almost can't believe it's happened. I was a bit scared of opening this thread.

Good idea about taking some out... at least if the father goes nuts at least you will have some in another tank.

Congratulations btw, I saw macs at a LFS for $350!

They are all doing well the male has now release all of the fry and his started to eat again like a pig

So far I've counted 16 fry with many more hiding in the fully planted tank

Wow that's ridiculous, they look almost as developed as my Simplex fry that are much older. The runts seem to be comparable in size to these guys.

Nice!!

Unfortunately last night I spotted 2 deformed fry

1 had 1 eye and a bent spine and the other has it's mouth stuck open locked jaw sad

Other then that they all seemed normal

Shadoh: I think around 5 to 6 months

Correct me if I'm wrong

Fantastic that they are all doing well - even those with the parents too!

Does anyone know at what size they start to show colours in the males so you can differentiate the genders?
