  1. Update on my tank. Got some new corals and made a frag rack. Dosed some hardcore calcium- apparently you can overdose it haha.. so had to do a 50% water change. thankfully things are coming back to normal again. Some pics of night time and with the MH at 50% Frag rack- Egg crate superglued onto the back of a magnet cleaner. kinda so we can move it around in the light. Didn't do a very good job of the soft corals, turns out the tissue around the frags die and they un attach ):

They're happy! We've put them at dave's place, ontop of the 8 ft tank- still nice and warm and enough space. They are really nice ones!!! You coming by the shop tomorrow?

  3. That looks like the best job ever! Those acro's have some amazing colours.. Wish I could go to Fiji!!
  4. AWESOME!! Once I get paid I'll be donating to worlds greatest shave somehow. My grandpa got diagnosed with Lung cancer earlier this year.. and I never realised the seriousness of any cancers. Wish I could do it. I loved dying my hair. Found a bottle of Cherry Pink in my drawer the other day and considered it.. Good on ya man :bighug:
  5. Design WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! all set up finallyy!
  6. Duncan's aren't really liking the high flow, but they are stuck there now ): Going to possibly purchase a new 3 ft tank and if the starphire cube doesn't sell we're gunna drill it/get an overflow box and use it as a frag tank. Super excited.
  7. they were snails! caught them in the warmer pools, and they've been fine some updates. New corals, got some occelaris too Side Front I'm selling my opticlear tank so we can upgrade to a 3 ft tank!
  8. zoas are awesome. just added some to the tank. Will post up some new pics soon! Got some trac's here they are at night (no lights on) here they are normally got a pair of clowns and a small hammer. There was a hitch hiking sea fan and a clam on it too. Don't think the clam will survive, but we'll see how it goes.
  9. temporary hang on filters, and all planted HC and Pennywort. Will be probably replacing the pennywort with something else.. sorry it's a bit cloudy. Will update with a new picture once i'm home!
  10. rofl. Fishing licences darling I've had one since I was 18, been fishing almost every week since conception haha! http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/fisheries/recreational-fishing/catch-limits-and-closed-seasons/molluscs-and-other-invertebrates/molluscs-all-other Snails are considered as a mollusc under victoria, with a bag limit of 5 litres.
  11. Okay, So it seems that there is a lot more progress on the marine than initially thought. So I've started it's own thread. Here's how it is now. David, Jordan and I went down to Rye and picked up some snails, found some goby fish (which survived until we put them into the tank, too hot today!) and found two shrimp! Got a new coral today, Green finger. We saved it from the back tank of Mentone Aquarium, poor guy was dying. Did a bit of a re-arrange, the Duncan wasn't very happy in full flow. Will move the open brains to the sand coz apparently they do better.
  12. Updated. Thanks for the suggestions, looks quite a bit better now! (I think so anyway) checked on the Corals and Coral beauty, They are doing well, and settling in . Just picked up co2, and will drop by subscape to get a refill on the tank, as I believe it is not very full.. Looking to add the red phantom tetras and the boseman rainbows.... if we can catch them out of the 5 ft hahaha. Might get some shrimp, but will probably be eaten by the fish coz I don't think there'll be much room for the fish to hide. Will be using HC as carpeting, planning on dosing ferts too. Background,
  13. yeah, we dive together often. went up with a couple mates to mornington to collect abs and scallops over the easter break! jordan, my fiance and myself came back with 135 scallops, which were eaten within 12 hours.. couldn't look at another scollup for a good month after that haha! anyway, here's an update of the marine tank. New corals, rocks are settling in, which means they are shifting.. which annoys me a bit. Couple new corals today. Green finger and.. another lps, not sure of the name. Coral beauty. he's settling in at the moment, so can't see him in the tank. Here he is in
  14. Thanks neffy Substrate is from Subscape, Jordan bought a bag for me from he last shift in exchange for a McFeast meal on the way home from picking up the tanks haha! They are the same rocks but placed differently. Substrate is just small black/brown gravel, Not too sure on what it is exactly. Been looking at a lot of different scapes and improved the last placement, any crits on the current layout? I want it to be just right before adding fish and plants. For the Marine, probably looking for a pair of ocelaris clowns, and loads more corals. Oh and I want a dottyback. They are too
  15. SO, after taking down the 4 ft tank, and promising to myself to down size, I went and spend more money (weeding money, oops) on a smaller tank. It's a 40 cm Cube Opticlear. It's so beautiful <3 Finished or still tweaking the hardscape before I add plants, water and fish, picking up an Up Aqua CO2 system today for pretty cheap. Have been debating with myself whether or not to get one. But i couldn't refuse an offer. Okay here's the important stuff. Hardscape: I've rotated the tallest rock a bit since this picture, it was showing too much of the flat side. OH, and Davi
