    VT x HM

I spawned a VT male to a HM 8-ray female and got mostly VTs with regular 2-ray caudals, but i did get a few round tails with 4-ray branching.
  3. *sneaks in* i really want to try to get to the next BBG, it will depend on babysitters, work and finances...
  4. LOL yes i meant Annerley. I was kinda hoping for a nice relaxed evening similar to the last one but i think we are in for a hectic day! LOL
  5. We could do coffee at Macca's at Annandale between JLs and the auction?
  6. Hi and welcome to AAQ! I'd love to see some pics of your fish if you'd like to share!
  7. Didn't you move up to Cairns from Airlie? Or are you back in Airlie again? I'll be in Airlie for a week in April might be able to catch up for a coffee if you're still there!
  8. Reposted with new pics... Flickr is a little different to use then Photobucket. The code to use for posting photos isn't shown upfront, but it is there! When viewing the image you want to post, click on the button "All Sizes". Note: sometimes this is only viewable to the owner of the photo depending on their privacy settings. The "All Sizes" page shows up to 5 different resized images of your original image. (depending on what image size you uploaded) You click on the size you want to use. Keeping in mind not to post image sizes over 800 x 600 on the forums. Then below image you chose to use, at the very bottom of the page where you could almost miss it.. There is the lovely code you want "Grab this photo's URL" is the one you want. Copy it and then paste it into the post, remembering to put it inside the image tags. [img] your url to image here [/img] And then there is no stopping you posting millions of photos of your Aquariums, Fish and other furbabies :(
  9. When in Photobucket click on the picture you want to use to open it into a single image page. Then copy the IMG Code on the bottom right hand side (see red box) then paste it into the post your are writing on AAQ.
  10. The snails are far to slow to catch anything, except leftover grindals LOL I think Dad went snacking in the first spawn LOL
  11. Might be a good idea Kandee LMAO!!! If you are wanting a nice bowl/vase type tank for your fish, head into a store like Lincraft or Spotlight and check out their large vases. I have several large cylindrical vases that hold around 8L that i paid only $16 for And also a couple of large fish bowl type ones for the same price.
  12. I am the same as Lilli, i think if you typically have well cared for betta and feed them quality foods then they are as well-conditioned as they need to be for spawning.
  13. HAPPY VENTRAL DAY!!!! Personally i feed my spawns twice per day and by 5 weeks the tank is full and i do a small water change every 3 or 4 days. What are you feeding them now? By 5 weeks my guys have a variety of foods include grindals, finely chopped frozen bloodworms & mini pellets. Congratulations! You've done the hard yards, now you get to enjoy watching them colour up and grow out their fins
  14. There are so many conflicting reports of communal tanks out there that it's hard to decide what's right and what's not. What works for one may not work for another. I suggest doing a search here on AAQ, reading everything you can find and then decide if it's for you or not. Personally i have a tank with 5 female betta, 1 male betta, a mollie, a zebra danio and a bristlenose and they all get along famously. A lot depends on the temperment of your fish. I also have another tank with 3 females living in harmony together - there has never even been a single nipped fin in that tank.
  15. Maybe someone's, your place for a BBQ and then to the auction.. ? Thoughts anyone? That way those who wants to can meet and someone's, if they can't make that, they can just come to your place, then we can convoy to the auction LOL
  16. I have found that full or new moon works well for me
  17. These guys are cruising along nicely, now almost 2 weeks old. They are sneaky little buggers though, hanging out under the filter where i can't get a decent pick of them LOL They do have nice caudals developing and i can just see a little hump of the dorsal beginning to develop on the bigger fry. Largest would be around 6mm in length now. I have managed to count at least 20 at one time, which means there's at least double that in there LOL
  18. that sounds like a plan!!!! We could meet a JLs shop and then move to Julia's after?
  19. Fergus
