  1. The limitation of 5 photos per post has now been lifted. It's something I've been meaning to do for a while. It was first put in place when people were having trouble with their bandwidth. At first we tried adding "image heavy" warnings to the title but then chose to place a limit on photos. Technology has advanced since then and I think the limit isn't necessary any longer. Let me know if you have any questions or still experience problems.
  2. Hi Ineke and welcome to the forum.
  3. Hi there. Welcome to the forum. What are you planning on keeping in the tank? Do you want to grow plants? Do you want to try and hide all equipment? There are so many options to choose from. But I'm sure if we work through it step by step we can find something which will work that you can afford. Where are you located? Do you have a good aquarium shop nearby or will you need to buy everything online?
  4. Corydoras make good tank mates. And there are some very cute ones you can get these days. I prefer getting groups of at least 3 but usually aim for 4-5. For that size tank you want to stick to the smaller varieties like the panda cory. But they're not particularly dirty and you've got a massive filter. They'll add some activity to the bottom of the tank. You could possibly have them coexist with the shrimp. Steer away from tetras as tank mates. I always find them nippy.
  5. I haven't tried shrimp with bettas. I always figured they wouldn't survive long. My guess is the Betta will try to eat them. Where are you going to get your shrimp from? Aquagreen have native shrimp. A lot of people say good things about Dave.
  6. Sounds like you're doing all the right things.
  7. Adults are ok with food that isn't moving but fry tend to need that movement to trigger their feeding instinct.
  8. They won't eat it if they're not moving. You could try swirling it. But I've not had much success with frozen. Have you tried eBay? There's usually someone selling some. If you're really keen you could buy a whole can. Excess eggs can be stored in airtight containers in the fridge. I get my cans of brine shrimp from here: https://www.primo.net.au You could also try raising brine shrimp to adult size. You'll need a dedicated tank for them though.
  9. Excellent! You should source the brine shrimp eggs pronto. And you realise of course that you're going to need a larger tank to raise them in, then the 20 ltr will be empty and so you might let the pair go again, then you'll need another tank, and another, hahahaha.
  10. Welcome Devon. We'd love to see pics of your setup.
  11. Wow. Sounds quite a challenge. Good luck. There is a new IBC chapter that's just started in Dubai. Perhaps they can help. BTW your old profile could be fixed up and merged with this one if you like. Let me know what you'd like to do.
  12. Welcome Clinton. We might very well turn you into a fish nut in time.

Welcome to the forum KSN. Interested to hear more about your research.
  14. Welcome! Great way to get rid of your excess endlers. Well done.
  15. I don't think it will be a huge problem. I've had tanks in icy cold spots in the house. The only way to check would be to get up in the middle of the night to see what temperature the tank gets down to which might not be practical. Maybe check first thing in the morning.
  16. Welcome Morgan. Yes shrimp have come along in leaps and bounds.
  17. Oops! Sorry about the slow approval. Been a busy couple if weeks. Welcome to the forum though.
  18. Welcome Joe. Great to have an experienced breeder join us. Threesome spawning sounds interesting.
  19. Hey there Monkeys. Welcome to the forum. I would have though Adrian at Exotic Aquatics could have at least told you when they would have stock available of the plants you were after. No? Subscape in Richmond have a reasonable selection of plants usually.

Do you let them spawn continuously? Or do you separate them and put them together periodically? With gardneri I used to separate and got more eggs when I put them together.
  21. Yeah I noticed some facebook pics were broken. Not sure how to fix that.
