I'm new here so be nice After many years ago having both tropical and cichlid set-ups I have now returned to having an aquarium that is cold water set-up with an assortment of goldfish . My dogs love watching them, especially as they are quite large and easy to see I've join the forums as I am wanting advice about filtration and the media used in filter canister, in particular carbon. I've read some conflicting advice about the use of carbon. most agree that carbon has some great benefits in filtration, but how long do we keep the carbon in the canister. Some say no longer that 2 to 3 weeks as the carbons goes from helping to harming. Is this true or not? Thanks GW
