How is she going Brenton? How are you finding the heat is circulating? How regularly are you doing water changes/ siphoning out her little compartment?

This looks like a really good idea, I will be following this thread closely for ideas for what I`m going to do.

They are stunning!! Can`t wait to see fry when they are grown, hopefully they are like their parents! I still can`t believe the colours on them mosaic girls.

I used to keep shrimp and I too had success with panty hose to stop the shrimplets getting sucked up. The only problem I found was it may sometimes reduce the flow, so making sure you clean it is a necessity. As for the shrimplets, they will eat the same as the adults, mine seemed to love decomposing IAL. They should be visible straight away, but mine seemed to hide for the first few days. Dan.

Hi Brenton, I think this is a great thread, I`m always thinking how to improve my "to be" set up!! I have three 30L tanks, two of which will be divided into three compartments each and the third will be used as a spawning tank. Then have a planted 3ft community that houses fifteen cardinals tetras, four bronze cories and two kribensis and a 100L that will be used as a growout. Now my big problem was "Where will i put the fry when the get aggressive??", Mum and Dad didn`t want me getting anymore tanks so I had to work with what I had sooooooo I`m now building two in-tank barracks for the 100L and the 3ft. They will be made of clear acrylic divided into five compartments each, I`m just hoping to god they don`t fall apart or leach toxins or anything else that could go wrong because knowing my luck, what could go wrong, will go wrong. But at the moment I haven`t got a single betta, as you see I like to be prepared before I plunge myself in Dan. PS: Heres Bettarazzi`s old beanie box setup:

Welcome to the forum!! This is a really interesting project and a very good one at that. I`m intrigued as to how your going to breed hardier guppies though, how will you tell which ones are hardier? Inbreeding is definitely the cause in some cases so maybe getting a large gene pool could help? Dan.
