  1. They're attractive critters. I haven't kept them as pets, but when I've caught some previously they managed to climb up out of the tray and walk/crawl away... so you might need a lid.
  2. Maybe try finding some riffle shrimp (australatya striolata)?
  3. http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/aquaculture/publications/species-freshwater/freshwater-crayfish---aquaculture-prospects "Many European countries have had their crayfish stocks destroyed by the so-called "crayfish plague", caused by fungus Aphanomyces astaci. It originated in the United States and spread to Europe with introduced crayfish. This fungus is not present in Australia, but tests have shown that if it were to reach Australia it would destroy many of our crayfish stocks. To stop this fungus destroying our unique crayfish fauna, the import of crayfish into Australia has been prohibited."
  4. You could always try and see what happens.
  5. They're cold water critters. Java moss seems to do okay in my cold water tanks though, it just doesn't grow as fast.
  6. The only shrimp you would have any luck getting down there are Paratya. You should be able to catch some in the rivers and streams using a bait trap, or even with a net by sweeping around the banks, and in weed beds.
  7. I'll trade you a few for some stick insects They might not be exciting enough for you though. :D
  8. I don't think thouse 'mini algae eating shrimp' are the same thing as the darwin algae eaters... Macrobrachium aren't all that hard to catch if you can't find anyone selling them. You probably wouldn't want to put them in with your shrimp though.
  9. It's very easy to end up with a heap of them isn't it. I started with two, which turned into 17, then one died which was replaced with three more....
  10. When were they born? They only moult once a year.

    Hey

The tanks I currently have are too small for keeping much more than shrimp (2x 21L, and one 25L.) So I was thinking of getting a betta or two (in seperate tanks) untill I have the space for something larger. Still not sure though.

    Hey

Hey there, I mostly keep shrimp and plants, but I've decided to give fish a try.
