There have been a number of occasions when members have referred to male bettas which they are having difficulty spawning as "gay". This is not an appropriate use of the term. I understand that in nearly all instances the member has meant it jokingly. However, we try to be an inclusive community and to use the term in a derogatory manner is not acceptable. If you wanted to have a serious, scientifically based discussion about the occurence of homosexual behaviour in animals, that would be ok. But when your bettas won't spawn or blow bubble nests, it is more likely to be bad husbandry or simply bad luck than an indication of sexual preference.
